Her parents were Siefke Buhrs and Talke Lene Warns Buhrs. Maria had a son, Johann Dietrich Schwengels 30.11.1824, but was not married to Johann Schwengels, the father of the child. Cannot locate the death of Maria Buhrs. Perhaps she married again. She may have emigrated with her son on September 5, 1850, to St. Louis, Missouri or Washington County, Illinois, but I cannot locate any passenger lists that would tell who traveled with him. His emigration date comes from his Reiss Pass and says he was going to St. Louis, Missouri. He was established in Washington County, Illinois by 1857.

In Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. There is an Aldrich VanDohlen III buried there with his wife. On his marker it says he died in 1968 and was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross during WWII. I'm trying to find some of his family because both markers need replacing due to poor mowing practices. The markers are just below ground level and are some sort of metal in need of reair. Her death certificate states that she was born in Ellerndorf, Hanover, Germany. However, her brother's death certificate states he was born in Muden, Germany. Dorothea and Johann Kruse first three children were born in Hanstedt, Hanover, Germany.
