You go to a Family History Center and they then order whatever microfilms you want from the Family History Library out in Salt Lake City. It takes a couple of weeks after ordering them for them to get to the Family History Center. As to writing Schöllkrippen: The rule in German is that if the "Umlaut" is left off of a vowel where it should be, the "Umlaut" gets replaced by the letter "e". So if you can't type the "Umlaut", you simply use the "e" spelling; e.g. Schöllkrippen becomes Schoellkrippen. Robert

I would need to call them and see if they have these films or if they would need ordered. Problem is, my best hours for researching right now are after 9PM...nice for internet but not so nice for libraries. P.S. Got your other message re: Schoellkrippen...know about the umlaut but don't have/too lazy to find that character on my computer! Guess I'll have to find it since my research is taking me deeper into Germany. Mary Lou

    1. Chicago Census info needed
    2. jan wgh
    3. Greetings Listmembers: Does anyone have access to the Chicago IL census data for 1900 and 1910? I am looking for the address of Carl (or Karl, or Charlie) Retzke. The ships manifest for the ship Willehad (1903 Philadelphia) shows my grandfather, Johann Haase going to live with his brother-in-law Carl Retzke. The address is very hard to decipher...looks something like like "886 Clamemond Ave" but could be anything. Thank you. Warren Haase janwgh@localnet.com

Perhaps there are connections to the Jathos you list and G.W. Jatho's family. I have no information about him in Dransfeld and am hoping to find records that indicate who his family members might have been. 2. In the recent query about Germans to Britain, I was interested because my Phillip Geary born about 1830 may have come from Hanover (definately born in Germany) and it looks as though he stopped in Britain for a time. Any hints about researching this wouls be helpful. Also is it possible that the name Geary could have been something else in Germany? Most Gearys seem to be of Irish descent. thank you for your time Betty
