Also, I did not find any births of children to these couples during the 1679-1811 period. The birth records for the 1812-1903 period are only indexed with the father's surname. If you have dates of birth for any children of these couples, I would be glad to take a closer look. Becky

    3. Researching the families of Anton Schuhmann and Anna Elisabeth Zahn, their son Andreas b. 8 Nov, 1826 in Rose, Deutsch Krone, and his wife Cecelia Julianna Warnke. Also any of the children of Andreas and Julianna Warnke. The children I know of were Andreas b. 1850; Lorenz Roman b. 1856; Anna Christine b. 1858; John Anton b. 1860 and Rosalia Mary b. 1863. Andreas married Rosalie Hoppe, Anna Christine married Albert Streich, John Anton married Fran Neuhoff, and Rosalia Mary married Johan Gast. Some branches of these families resided in Hildesheim. It is possible that they spent some time in England but I doubt it. Nicholas' cousin John was born in 1865 in the US. As to the name FITTEN. This was the family that Nicholas lived with on the 1880 US Census in Brooklyn after his aunt and uncle died. I wonder if he is related somehow because Nicholas' cousins are listed as nephews and Nicholas is listed as other.

During that time it was fairly common that people from Germany did come to England and use it as a stepping stone to the USA . During that time there was a large influx of German Immigrants to England and the USA. Vague records I have states that Louise was born in 1841 in Lohme by Steimke, Nienburg, Hanover, Germany. Possible that their parents names were Friedrich and Sophie.

There is some evidence that they may have been brothers or cousins from Glandorf and Fuchtorf. All congregated in the Ohio, Illinois, and Kentucky areas. William and Charles worked at the same blacksmith shop in Covington on Pike Street. No family records show the identity of the German parents.
