We visited Harse-Winkle a few years ago and met some of the wonderful Terlutter families. Yes, I'm sure we are connected. I am right now in Ecuador but will be home in the USA in a couple weeks. I have all the Terlutter families in my computer but do not know how to connect all the families. Perhaps we can help each other. I will write to you the end of January. It is interesting for me to know how it happend that some Terlutter's are living in different destinations worldwide. As I know from my father, members of my family or others inhabitants here in our town Harsewinkel in North-Rhine-Westfalia, Germany, it seems to be sure, that the roots of our family is directly here in our region. It would be nice to know, how you became connection to our family. I will try to give you further information if you like. Gretings from Germany, Uwe

Both were born in Germany, the sons of John Bernard Krallmann and Susanne Hackman. John Bernard was the son of Wessel Krallman and Anna Margaretha Conen. They entered the US through the port of New Orleans. Herman stayed in Arkansas and Wenceslaus came on up to St. Louis, where he married Christine Koebbe and they remained for a time in St. Louis. Then then moved to central Illinois. Wessel Krallman was born about 1787 in Dersum.

There are Wessels and Hermans in this familt. I haven't been able to link them to another Krallman family. Originally - from the 15th century on - there were three families of that name:in Borsum, in Hilter and in Krall near Steinbild. Krall still is farm with three houses for personel and the name of all three families was derived from that "hamlet". If you could manage two find two more generations, I could be of help. So the name Krallman(n) means: "someone living in or coming from Krall." René Remkes
