I am seeking the family of Johannes Heinrich Andreas KORBER - born in Heissum 1841 and died in Seindstedt in 1897.
Hi Listers. I would be very grateful to receive data on the HINTE surname. I am aware that many of the HINTE families live in the area just to the North of Bremen & many in the suburbs of Bremen. I am happy to correspond with any member of the HINTE family, or researchers into the HINTE genealogy. My own family is descended from the HINTE family of Stotel. My Father left Stotel around 1898/9 for Australia. Please excuse this post being in the English Language, as I have no other language skills. Kindest regards Bill HINTE.

He wrote that William Altgilbers and Anna Feld (my great-grandfather's sister) had eight children: (1) Lula (m-Mayfield), (2) Helen (m-Long), (3) Odelia (m-Schultz), (4) Fred, (5) William, (6) Edwin, (7) Anna (m-Sears) and (8) Florence (m-Ostermiller). His writing was then more extensive for the Ostermiller/Altgilbers family. Can you fill in the early Mayfield/Altgilbers family history? Steve Feld

Hello, I am searching for the ship that my great-grandfather sailed on circa 1879-1884. Claus Heinrich Steinberg was born in 1835, married Maria Oerding in 1859, and emigrated from Germany to Baltimore, Maryland, USA to eventually settle in Brooklyn, NY, USA. His wife, children, and sister-in-law and niece came here to USA in 1884. He may have traveled with his brother-in-law, Christopher Oerding, in order to set up a business before sending for the rest of the family. They lived in Wisconsin for a while, but found the winter too harsh. Thank you for any help that anyone can give me. Regards, Susanne Ketner, Altoona, PA, USA.
Does anyone know if there are any books published which transcribe the church records of Brunswick? Thanks for reading Greg Rehme gregrehme@mindspring.com

Hello, I assume you mean Bad Brueckenau. Today it belongs to Bavaria and it is located in an area called Unterfranken. This used to belong to Prussia one, but never to the kingdom of Hanover. In generell, the 'Bad' in front of a German town name is a kind of title. It is given, if the town has a healthy fountain or special healthy air or other healthy natural conditions. So, usually you will find no 'Bad' in old German town names. Surnames: Klapproth Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZVC.2ACE/4062.2 Message Board Post: Hello, I read your question and might be able to help you a little further. 1. The name of the wife might be either Klapproth or Klapprodt. This are common ways to write our name. Sometimes also with one 'p'. 2. Hannover became part of Prussia after a short and bloddy battle against the Prussian army. So, its no discrepancy if somebody is born in Hannover and comes from Prussia. 3. I suppose the name of the hometown of Augusta is Osterode, not Osterow. It's where I and a lot of other Klapproth's come from. In fact, more Klapproth's live in the small villages around Osterode than in the town itself. 4. Herzberg is a town nearby and belongs to the Landkreis Osterode. By the way, Herzberg as a beautifull old castle. 5. Both towns are so close together, that it is very likely that they met and married. 6. Both towns are at the south boarder of the Harz mountains, the most northern mountains of Germany and far away from Berlin. Hope it helps and greetings from Germany Rolf Klapproth PS: The villages my family are from are Lasfelde and Katzenstein. Just in case, you run other it during your research.
Greetings listers. I am attempting to find a connection between the HINTE/HINTZE families of these cities/towns. Günther HINTE of Jembke is my oldest known ancestor.I am having problems finding his' Parents, as Church Records are not readily available, before 1720 in this area. I also have problems getting any data from the area around Boddin/Wittenburg, except for the Marriage of Friedrich HINTE to Anna REIMERS IN 1683 in Boddin, that town would seem to be the home of the Bride , rather than the Groom?Given the number of entries for the Family REIMERS. All of this brings me to Wittenburg, where I know that a HINTE family existed in the late 1600's, from former research, however I can not obtain useful data on this family. I would be very grateful for any data on this HINTE family, as it may well be the key to my research project? I apologise for the use of the English language, unfortunately that is the only language skills that I have.Replies in German are very acceptable, as I have a German Language speaking friend that will translate anything that I need. Kindest regards, Bill HINTE whinte@froggy.com.au
