We're researching the Jatho surname in Cassel and Dransfeld. Earliest known ancestor was Georg Heinrich Wilhelm Jatho, born about 1790, possibly in Cassel. He married Henriette Habich. Their son Georg Wilhelm Jatho was born on January 24, 1824 and emigrated to the USA in 1848, settling in Charleston SC. We have the Charleston Jathos documented fairly well: http://www.sakionline.net/familypage/jatho.shtml but are also looking for possible connections to other Jatho families who settled in Illinois and Missouri. We're also starting a Jatho DNA project to explore possible common ancestors. If interested, please email me. Regards, D.

Surnames: Frenser/Franzer/Frauser Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZVC.2ACE/3122.1 Message Board Post: Hi, I am responding to your message board. I am from the Frenser line. My great grandfather was John Frederick Frenser. He lived in St. Louis. Married a Wilehlmine Kuhn 17 Nov 1850 in St. Louis. He had lived in Callaway Township, New Melle, MO. in the 1860 census. (the census show Fred Franzer with two sons George and Charlie. A Sophie Franzer appears but she is a few years older. I am thinking that might be a relative. Or it might be Wilehlmine. John F. Frenser remarried my great grandmother Carolina Louisa Charlotte (maiden name Tiesmeier) Griese. Charlottes first husband was Henry Griese and I think he might have died in the civil war. John F. Frenser went by Fred/Frederick Franzer. Marriage record on ancestry shows John F Frenser married to Caroline Louisia Charlatte in 05 Apr 1867. In the 1870 census Fred and Charlotte have his son George, her two sons Henry and Charles Greasa (Griese) and my grandfather Julius Henry and Amelie Franzer. I do not know how they relate to your Schulten/Schulte family but John F. Frenser came from the same area that your family came. Also I seen the surnames Frenser in you r title. Just thought I would give you what I have found out. We went by the name of Franzer and we all live in St. Louis, Mo. (St. Charles) I know Charlotte collected civil war pension for Fred Frenser in Mar. 1892. The St. louis city directories of 1889-1890 show Fred and grandpa Julius living at 2314 Dodier, St. Louis. Fred was a teamster and Julius was a laborer. Fred (Frauzer name on death record boy did they murder the name Frenser/Franzer/Frauzer) died in 1891at the age of 66, from Oedema of Brain, died in st charles, mo and was married. Charlotte never remarried and lived in st. louis, mo. I have no idea when or where she is buried. I have collected most my info from ancestry. com. My brothers have two sons to carry on the name of Franzer. BettyMcCafferty@charter.net

His father was Johann Martin Bruenjes. Hermann married an English girl and later emigrated to Utah. I know there's an area not far from Bremen (but in the kingdom of Hannover) that has tons of Brunyers/Bruenjes. I haven't found mine, though.
I'm trying to locate birth or immigration information on Henry Gilkin who was born around 1817, immigrated to the US, was in the Civil War and died in Pennsylvania in 1865. He lists Hanover, Germany on the federal Census records as his place of birth. I've been unable to locate anything other than the above information even after checking the FHC. Thanks for any leads.
