Hi, I have been researching the NICHOLLS name for my brother in law. Unfortunately I have relatively quickly reached a dead end. The last ancestor in his line is one Job NICHOLS, born in or around 1789 in Hooking Norton, Oxfordshire ( also entries for Epwell, in the same area). The IGI record for Job does not list any parents, only a relative, one Frederick SMITH. Job had a brother, James, who also had the same relative listed on his record, with no parents. Does anybody know what the most likely explanation for this is? Or does anyone have these individuals in their history? Thanks a lot, Mark.
