I have found his NICHOLLS relatives in Somerset, where all the BMD were at St Cuthberts, Wells, Somerset - his father William Nicholls who married Jane HODGES, his brother John b 1802 and his grandfather John NICHOLLS who married Frances WILKINSON and his aunt Susanna who married John KNEEBONE from Truro; his aunt Frances who married George VAUGHAN. I am directly descended from Thomas Odgers NICHOLLS.b 1837....who emigrated to Australia with his wife Mary Courtis SEARLE IN 1869 We know his sister, Jane NICHOLLS b 1830 emigrated with her husband George MAY However, while we think Susan and Elizabeth stayed in Cornwall, we do not know anything whatsoever about William Henry NICHOLLS b 1825, John NICHOLLS 1827, Charles NICHOLLS 1829, nor James NICHOLLS 1836 who we understand married Harriet unknown, and had a son Harry who was born in Lancastershire. No link I am aware of to the below but I have a William Godwin Nicholls, my GGF, born Dudley, Worcestershire 1848, but have yet to trace his father. Sons Kingsley (believed to have died young), Erskine (Ernie), Stanley and Gifford (b Olton, Solihull, nr Birmingham), all of whom emigrated to New Zealand (Tauranga and Wellington).
