Hi, I'm researching my gg-grandparents: ASA NICHOLS born Oct 1828, Surry County, NC who married MARTHA HEAD in Yadkin County, N.C in Dec 1851/1852. Martha was born in May 1829, Surry County, NC. Asa Nichols and his family moved from Yadkin County in the late 1860's to Grayson County, Old Town District, Virginia where he was a farm laborer and Shoemaker. Asa and Martha had nine children: William H. Cornelia A. (Amelia) Charlie I (my Great-grandfather who married Clerisey Brooks of NC) Frances Ann (married twice....John R. Grubb & Henry Williams) Lydia C. Asay Mc Issac G. Jesse Martha J. The biggest block wall for me is to: 1. Confirm the parents of Asa Nichols 2. Any information on the deaths of Asa & Martha Nichols. Note: My Grandmother, Carrie Belle (Nichols) Shupe had written down the dates of 1908 for Asa and 1910 for Martha's passing, but need confirmation of this and where buried. NOTE: Have found different spelling for ASA= ASAPH/ASAY/ and different spellings of Nichols as noted in above Subject. Any and all help would be appreciated.
