H. Fay, Pioneer Woman of Stephen, Passes" Mrs. Christopher H. Fay, a pioneer woman of Marshall county, aged 71 years and 6 months, passed away suddenly from a heart attack at her home in Stephen, Thursday, November 24th. The deceased was born May 26, 1867 at Phoenix, MI, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nicholls. She came with her parents to Stephen in 1883, where she was married in 1887 to Christopher Henry Fay, who preceded her in death some years ago. She is survived by four children: Mrs. William Roach, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; Lawrence and Lydia Fay and Mrs. Otto Benson, all of Stephen. There are also one sister and four brothers surviving: Mrs. William Chamberlain, Norway, MI; W. H. Nicholls, Spearfish, SD; Thomas Nicholls, Santa Rosa, FL; and John Nicholls, Argyle, MN. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Presbyterian church in Stephen with Rev. Peter De Beer officiating."
