    3. I am looking for information about Nichols/Nicolls/Nicholls families from LI. And a Abraham Nichols/Nicolls/Nickulls who lived in Smithtown area in 1700's. Abraham maybe a relative of Benjamin's. I am interested in any LI Nicholls of this time period. BENJAMIN NICHOLS was born Abt. 1723 died 1799 in Hauppauge, Smithown, Suffolk Cty, LI, NY. He married Sarah. In his Will of 1799 he named the following: STEPHEN NICHOLS m Tabitha Wicks ISAAC NICHOLS m Hannah Wheeler APOLLOS NICHOLS (no info) I believe he left the area. BENJAMIN NICHOLS (in his Will of 1801 he named his brothers) JESSE NICHOLS m Susannah Tillotson (info available in Tillotson book by Wil White) WILLIAM NICHOLS (no info) JACOB NICHOLS b 1767 ABRAHAM NICHOLS m Sarah Longbotham PAUL NICHOLS m Elizabeth Arthur MARY NICHOLS m Jacob Arthur AMY NICHOLS m.     3. Dear All, Can I politely suggest that we not use abbreviations for the locations of our ancestors? Many of us non-Americans don't know what things like "LI" mean, although we can guess at "NY". Vice Versa for non-Americans!
