News from the Federation of Family History Societies, forwarded with permission: Yesterday we publicised a change in the opening hours of Lancashire Record Office, based on an announcement made by that Office. Tony Foster (Chairman of Lancashire Family History & Heraldry Society) has since advised me that, for several years, the Office has been closed during the first full week of each month. That practice has changed as part of the change in opening hours from the beginning of September, and it will now remain open during that week in the normal way.
