    3. Hi all I am trying to follow up on the NICHOLLS line. I would like to hear from anyone who has leads or links. What I have (briefly) is the following: STEPHEN NICHOLLS. christened 02.09.1792 Redruth Cornwall. Child: JAMES NICHOLLS. b Abt 1836 in Cornwall; m Mary Jane Love 03.10.1857 in Madron, Cornwall. Children: JAMES NICHOLLS. b Abt. 1866 Cleator Cumberland THOMAS LOVE NCHOLLS b Abt. 1870 Cleator Cumberland; m Sarah Anne Holden, d 1931 Johannesburg, South Africa. THOMAS apparently went out to South Africa at some stage. It is said he was in Kimberly in the diamond business at some stage and was said to have been very wealthy having bought a large house there which belonged to a doctor. Later he moved to the Gold mines in Johannesburg. Children: MARY ELLEN NICHOLLS b 21.04.1905 Egromont; m Edward Harold Sephton; d 21.02.2001, Durban, South Africa. JIMMY NICHOLLS. b ?; d 1942-1948 at sea en route from South Africa to USA. GRACIE NICHOLLS. b ?; d ? Johannesburg; m Eddie Swift ADELAIDE NICHOLLS b ?; d ? Johannesburg; m Harry Scott JENNY NICHOLLS b ?; d Johannesburg Abt 1972; m Billy Hicks TOMMY NICHOLLS b ?; d 1968 Germiston, South Africa DICK NICHOLLS b ?; d ? Johannesburg; m Sylvia Sophia Francis ELIZABETH NICHOLLS b ?; d ? Cape Town; m ? Metaxas SARAH JANE NICHOLLS b ? d ? JACK NICHOLLS b ?; d ? A family story I am particularly interested in but cannot find any verification for is that JIMMY NICHOLLS ran away from home in Johannesburg, South Africa when he was about 15. He made his way to the USA and apparently lived in New York at some stage. He and his wife lived in an apartment and their baby apparently crawled out of an open window and got killed. His wife never recovered from this shock. JIMMY visited his mother in Johannesburg at some stage between about 1942-1948 on his way back from Saudi Arabia (where he was said to be in the oil industry) to the USA. He was not well at that time and apparently died on board ship after leaving South Africa. I would love to hear from any one who may have some leads or ideas on how to follow up on this story and any others who may have some links to this line.
