    2. Dear Kay, sorry to have taken so long in replying. I only wish I could nip off down to Somerset myself, but I´m stranded in Germany. The info you´ve managed to gather sounds good, but I don´t think it ties in with my bunch, though I´ll be saving your message just in case. Thanks for helping and happy hunting! Maggy

    2. Hi Maggy. I have just returned from a visit to the UK and went down to Somerset. There I found the marriage of Charles Saunders and Sarah Jane Nicholls. It was in 1874 in Cossington nr Bridgwater. Charles was 36 a widower and Sarah Jane was 33 a spinster. Her father was John Nicholls a Thatcher. In the 1861 census John Nicholss was aged 47 born in Chilton Polden and his wife Elizabeth 46 born in Woolavington. Their children living with them were Mary Ann aged 7 Emliy aged 5 and Lucy aged 3 Sarah Jane would have left home by the time 1861. I also found the marriage of John Nicholls a widower and Elizabeth LEE a widow that was in 1833 in Bridgwater. The trip to Somerset was well worth it. Let me know if you have these names regards Kay

    1. [NICHOLLS] Re: nicholls cornwall family
    2. Hi! Researching Henry Nichols/Nicholls, baptized 2-19-1804 in Gulvall, St. Ives Parish, Cornwall. He was the son of Andrew Nichols/Nicholls and Ann Brush. (Ann Brush's father, Henry Brush was the son of Richard Brush and Margaret Bennets). Henry married Elizabeth Richards, born 12-30-1804 in Breage to Richard Richards and Elizabeth Polkinghorn. Henry and Elizabeth were married on 6-26-1830 in Ury Lelart, Cornwall. Henry immigrated to U.S. in 1847 and Elizabeth followed in 1848 with their 7 children: Henry, Elizabeth, Mary, Andrew, Alice, Sarah and Susan. Perhaps there is a connection to your Nichols/Nicholls family.
