Henry H. > Saunderson > 1876 <SNIP> Hi Janice Thank you very much for publishing these transcriptions of Charlestown, NH families and also making them available on the website! I've been able to make a lot of use of them as I directly descend from PARKER, SARTWELL, & PORTER and have connections to others. Perhaps you could clear up what has been a point of confusion for me. I'm continuing the post on the list in case anyone else is interested or has input. Saunderson indicated in the original book that Lieut. Isaac PARKER (b. 1685) was a son of Joseph & Elizabeth PARKER and that he married a woman named Ruth of unknown surname. This appears to be contradicted by other sources including Butler which you quoted elsewhere and charts that I have recently come across that show him married to Ruth BLOOD and as the son of Isaac & Estor (FLETCHER) PARKER and the grandson of Abraham & Rose (WHITLOCK) PARKER. Considering that Saunderson must have had the same sources available to him, I'm confused as to how he made the error or if he was, in fact, in error. Any help with this gratefully appreciated! One of my lines is, I believe, from Thomas PARKER (b. 1757) the son of Isaac PARKER Jr.(b. 1709) by his second wife Mehitable. Thomas PARKER married Betsey PORTER (whose direct line I have no clues on as yet) and they moved in 1800 to Compton, Quebec. Familiar Charlestown surnames in Compton, Quebec were PARKER, FARWELL, SPAFFORD and probably others. Best regards Bob
