Thomas Farnsworth m. Nov. l2, l753 Elizabeth DAVIS of Littleton MA dau of Barnabus Davis and his wife, Hannah (Powers) Davis. Elizabeth b. l738 and d. l823 at Alstead N.H. They lived at Lunenburg MA and New Ipswich, NH. The lst town meeting at New Ipswich held l3 Sep l762 listed "Joseph Stevens, Thomas Farnsworth, Francis Flet- cher, Ebenezer Heald and Joseph Bullard who were chosen surveyors of highways". (see also Kidder's History of New Ipswich, NH p. 64) The lst town militia training was in l77l. List of Officers: Thomas Fletcher, Captain Benjamin Knowlton, lst Lieut Isaac Appleton, 2d Lieut Thomas Heald, Ensign Samuel Whittemore, Clerk Francis Fletcher, Sgt. Charles Barrett, Sgt. Simeon Fletcher, Sgt. Ezra Towne, Sgt. Stephen Parker, Corp. Joseph Parker, Corp. Hezekiah Corey Corp. Moses Tucker, Jr. Corp. Thomas Farnsworth, Drummer, and was one of those who went to Cambridge at the time of the Battle of Lexington and was there 8 days (see also l4 NH State papers p.34).
