At the time he came to Fort No. 4 he already had 5 children: Ebenezer, Ruth, Seth Jr., Thomas and Timothy. Seth Putnam Jr. was one of first settlers at the fort killed by Mohawk Indians. Ruth Putnam m. Peter Larabee Seth Putnam's wife was Ruth. The gravestones for the senior Putnams gives his death Nov. 30, l775 age 80 yrs. (he born l695.)
