Julie, Am looking forward to your completion of the Sullivan County Ancestors site. My husband's roots are very deep in Sullivan Co. Living in Texas it's very difficult to do research in the New England area so I try to utilize every source possible. I'm sure your site will be a big help to many with the same problem. Good luck and thanks! Jeanette Moody
Hi guys, A couple weeks ago I put a message on the lists indicating that I'm getting close to finishing my Newport, New Hampshire genealogy web pages, and asking for some input as to which of the other small towns in the area would be most helpful to researchers. I think I listed Grantham, Croydon, Lempster, and Goshen as some of the possibilities. Last week I spoke with Charlie, the owner of the 4nh internet space who is providing the space I am using, and we concluded that since the interest had been about even on all of the towns, and since all of the towns are quite small, we're going to be really democratic about this and the new site will simply be called Sullivan County Ancestors, and will incorporate genealogy information from all of the towns in the area. This wisdom must be right up there with King Solomon's, don't you think??? ;-) I haven't started the page yet......am still plugging along on Newport as I had some delays in finishing that site (as if it will ever actually be finished, right?) I'll notify the lists when Sullivan County is up and thtere's enough information on it to make your visit interesting. Julie
Hi Julie, I can hardly wait for your web page to come on line. I live in California and in a few weeks I will be visiting in Sullivan County to do some research and visit an Aunt of mine. It would have been great to have seen it before coming. My mother's family and ancestors, HURDS mainly, are from all over Sullivan County. Looking forward to the site though whenever you are able to get it finished. Thanks, Pat Moore
Looking for any information about the following family: James ANNIS, born New Hampshire c. 1825? , married Miranda PARKER, born Vermont c. 1825?. Had son, Charles Silas ANNIS, born January 21, 1847, in Albany, VT. Charles was adopted by John DUCKLES (b. 1806) and Elizabeth Ann (WOODMAN) DUCKLES (of Lowell MA) in 1852. Charles S. (ANNIS) DUCKLES married Caroline BROOKS January 6, 1872, in Albany VT. Charles died March 4, 1911, in Albany VT. Does anyone have a James or Charles ANNIS or a Miranda PARKER? hi all- I just got a Massachusettes Cd rom for 15% less then most online resellers at www.LINEAGELINKS.COM (SAVED 14.00). They also have New England maps of New England Counties, books, links, and a wide selection of other vital records, birth, death, marriage, and census records on Cd rom. You might find what your looking for there. good luck
I am looking for information on the ancestors of Simeon McIntyre, born around 1774 in Massachusetts or Connecticut, died 2/25/1859 in Crown Point, NY. He married Emma Wright of Middleton, MA on 7/5/1795. He lived in Middleton MA; Charlestown, NH; and Crown Point, NY; and was a shoemaker. He is an ancestor of the Ingram and Paige families of Massachusetts and New York.
I also am eagerly awaiting your listings on Claremont. NH. I have Smiths and Pattons there. Irene
Julie, The Newport site looks good - I'm eagerly waiting for Claremont. I have some missing CLARKs, last known to be there. How wonderful of you to do this! Gail
Hi Toni, Thanks for alerting me to the missing e-mail links on the Newport web site. I had the pages set up on my other web site and decided to move them because it was so big and was loading too slowly. I had to edit the pages to get the Geocities advertising on them, and apparently forgot to put the e-mail link back on. I'll probably do that tomorrow, although I may be moving the pages from Geocities. I'm real unhappy with that new watermark they put on the pages this week. If I move the pages I'll alert the mailing list again, and put up a message on Geocities telling folks where they've gone. I want to get as much Newport information online as I can, and also create other pages for other Sullivan County towns...especially Claremont. Thank you for writing. Julie
Hi Julie, Just went to your site and found it to be well organized, attractive and fast loading. However, don't mean to be nit picky (g), but didn't find an e-mail address to contact you. If I missed it, I apologize and please let me know? ( I got your address from your e-mail that your sent to Sullivan County rootsweb) I have bookmarked your site as I can tell that you are going to go places with it, and make a great contribution to making this genealogy thing work on the net. I really give you credit for taking the time and effort that you have, into putting this site up. A lot of my family is from the Sullivan County area and I look forward to your updates. Hi Rooters, For those who are researching ancestors in Sullivan County, New Hampshire, and specifically Newport, I have set up a web page which I'm hoping will eventually contain records that will make your search easier. I've started with the Newport cemetery indexes, and have posted the following to my web page: Pine Street East Cemetery (Newport's oldest cemetery) Pine Street West Cemetery Northville Cemetery Maple Street Cemetery Addendum to Maple Street Cemetery With the exception of Maple Street, the information posted includes the grave number, name of the deceased, age at death, date of death and whatever other information was available, such as maiden names, birth dates, name of spouse and parents. (The information varies on each person) The Maple Street Cemetery contains only the names of the deceased, although the addendum includes some dates. Newport has two other cemeteries which I will post as time permits. I have included the 1790 census (although that is available elsewhere) and some informatio about Newports role in the American Revolution. Since I live in Sullivan County, many records are available to me and this is my attempt to do my bit to increase the searchable genealogy records online. When I have finished with Newport I intend to begin posting records from Claremont, Charlestown, Grantham and other towns in Sullivan County. The URL for my Newport website is: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/9001/index.htm Happy Hunting. Julie Cooper
I have added a New Family Research Message Board on My Family Page located at http://business.auracom.com/rotaryamh/marks/marks.htm You can post messages , which will remain there as long as my server space allows and then I will have to start removing them on the basis of how much space I have left and the age of the Messages.
