    3. Hello, Over the weekend I became curious why there are so few postings to the New-Hampshire List. I checked the archives, and there have been fewer than 30 postings for an entire year or so. When I went to find that List, I discovered that there is a NHGEN List. I checked that archives, and it is a very inactive List. I'm guessing that is because very few people know about it. I just joined that List and posted a brief query about my KIDDER ancestors. I also noticed that the New-Hampshire Message Board is not gatewayed to the New-Hampshire List. And, I noticed that I had never mentioned my KIDDER ancestors on that Board. So, I posted there. Unfortunately, on the "Unknown" category, my posting was - not allowed ! Turns out only "specific questions" can be posted there, and not general information. I'm considering whether to request that a new List be started up. Perhaps New-Hampshire-Research. And, have a Message Board started up to go along with it. But, I'm waiting to hear back from the Admin of the NHGEN List. www.rootsweb.com Since this will be a RAINY week, maybe researchers will have more time to post a query on this List. :o) Or, post information about a town or city you are interested in ! 2. Betty. I am just theorizing. Maybe the fewer postings reflect the more that is available now online. And available increasingly for free. I am on some UK mailing lists also, and I have also noticed fewer postings there. And. In New Hampshire, we are again blessed with free access to Ancestry.com at our libraries.   In the UK, there is a Genes Reunited list. I was thinking something similar here in the U.S. could be exciting. Through Genes Reunited, I have found living relatives. If I were to campaign for a new site right now, it would be to set up something similar here in the U.S.  to Genes Reunited.   Helena Hayden New Hampshire hthayden@att.net       --- On Mon, 5/16/11, Ms Betty Fredericks <bbffrrpp@yahoo.com> wrote: From: Ms Betty Fredericks <bbffrrpp@yahoo.com> Subject: [NHROCKIN] New Hampshire Research To: NHRockin@rootsweb.com, NHMerrim@rootsweb.com Date: Monday, May 16, 2011, 6:13 AM Hello, Over the weekend I became curious why there are so few postings to the New-Hampshire List.   I checked the archives, and there have been fewer than 30 postings for an entire year or so.
