Rockin' Rooters: 1) While I can't help feeling I've just given up something by way of web page design, I also think the change may result in a page which is less annoying to use. At least one of you sent me a message complaining about the constant "pop-up" advertisements that appeared whenever you viewed the Rockingham county GenWeb page. While I agreed, I felt the issue was beyond my control. Today, however, I decided to try the GeoCities banner-exchange program through its GeoGuide tool. Now the Geocities ads appear in a smaller space at the top of the pages, and they don't keep interfering with other parts of the pages you may be interested in viewing. Your comments addressed to be privately would be appreciated if you have an opinion as to whether matters have improved or been made worse by the change. Remember, the ads posted are rotated by GeoCities. While I can limit them to material suitable for viewing by children, that's the extent of my control. Most of them will have nothing at all to do with genealogy. 2) NHROCKIN subscriptions are still inching toward 300. We're now at 291. 3) I've shortened the time for the frequency the digest form of this list will be mailed to you NHROCKIN-D types (from 24 to 18 hours). Comments to me privately from those of you on the D list are welcome. Thanks for your support and your help! It should be a great new year. -- Dick Marston, Rockingham County, NH, County GenWeb Pages: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/1706/; Rockingham County, NH, Mail List (NHROCKIN) Owner.
