Hi, I am trying to get information on Jacob Bagley b. c 1745 from Candia, NH. I have unverified info that he is the son of Henry Bagley b. 1711 (descended from Orlando Bagley of Ipswich). I have not been able to find any verification that Jacob is Henry's son. I would also like to verify that James b. 1769 in Candia and later moved to Montville, ME (with Jacob) is actually Jacob's son and not a nephew. Four Bagley men moved to Montville from Candia by 1800 (per census records). There are so many Bagley's, I want to be sure I've got the right line. James' wife Abigail is the daughter of Elizabeth Cromwell (1746-1851 yes she was 105 when she died, its on her headstone). An 1850 census says Eliz. was born in NH and I wondered if Abigail met James in Candia. They were married in 1799 but do not know when they came to Montville, only that they were there in 1800. There is a long family story that Cromwell is Eliz. maiden name (her father Richard) and she used her maiden name because her husband deserted her and children. Abigail last name at the time of her marriage may have been Tollbrid. Does anyone see any mention of them in or near Candia. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! -
