I am trying to determine who is the correct spouse for Jonathan SEAVEY b.1732 of Greenland, NH s/o Samuel SEAVEY & Abigail FOSS. Jonathan's children: Comfort b.1756 m. Jonathan Tasker Levi 1760-1830 m. Olive Place Joseph 1762-1812 m1 Abigail Cummings m2 Polly Cate Jonathan 1758-1846 m1 Priscilla Philbrick m2 Sarah Towle Simon 1765-1848 m. Molly Randall Parsons' History of Rye, Louise Tallman's Rye Families-Seavey & Crockett Harrisons's Seavey book all have Jonathan Seavey m. Stevens with the above children The Hall Collection (of Seavey families) has Jonathan Seavey m. Comfort Cate bp.1729 with the same children. The Hall Collection non-Seavey section also has Tucker Cate m. Mary Sanborn with 10 children including Comfort Cate bp.1729 m. Jonathan Seavey. Tucker Cate is s/o Edward Cate (see GDMNH p.132). Given the first child's name of Comfort, and that child Joseph m. a Cate, this is some argument that it 'could' be Comfort Cate, but not very strong. Does anyone have more or better information on Jonathan SEAVEY's spouse??? I have an incomplete note that there may be info about Jonathan's marriage in Rye Church Records. Can anyone confirm this. In my notes I have that Bessie I. Seavey Perkins (Mrs. Elton Perkins), South Tamworth, NH might have more info on this family. Does anyone know her, or live near Tamworth so they could tell me if she is still there, or perhaps a family member that might have the info?
