List: Speaking of SINCLAIRs, I guess I mistakenly assumed that the John SINKLER/SINCLAIR/SINCLAIRE of Hampton who married Ann CHASE, was one and the same as the John SINCLAIR of Exeter. GDMNH provides the evidence that Ann married a John SINCLAIR as her 2nd husband. Both Dow's History of Hampton and Sanborn and Sanborn's Vital Records of Hampton provide evidence that John and Ann SINKLER/SINKELER/SINCLARE/SINCKLER had 4 daughters born there. But the John SINCLAIR of Exeter appears to be an entirely different person. Further, there is no support to be found in Hampton's records for GDMNH's claim that John of Exeter's 2nd wife, Deborah, was admitted to the Hampton church from Exeter on 14 Nov 1697. Anyone have any thoughts or information that will further clarify and identify this (these) John(s)? I refer in particular to: Noyes/Libby/Davis, "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire," (1939), pg. 139 (CHASE, #5); and Sanborn and Sanborn, "Vital Records of Hampton, New Hampshire, to the End of the Year 1900," (1992), vol. 1, pgs. 42, 47, 53 and 147. Thanks for any help. -- Dick Marston
