Dear Don and All Listers, I consider myself soundly reprimanded -- and deservedly so. My only defense, pitiful as it is, is pure ignorance - I didn't even realize I had neglected to enter a subject until I read my first 'response' from Mariana. Imagine my embarrassment -- to be caught by the listowner, herself -- and oblivious to my own error! I feel like I just started Kindergarten and I've been called into the Principal's office! I put sincere effort into my query, and am naturally disappointed to discover that I can expect no responses due to my own inattention to detail. I can't even claim to be new - I have been participating on this list for about a month now -- and I should have been more aware of what I was doing! I hope you all can forgive my 'list' infraction. Please accept my apologies, for committing the 'cardinal sin' of list usage, as well as for reposting my original message (below) in the hope that someone will take pity on me and help me out! Have a great day, in spite of this nuisance! Thanks for listening. I though it might be helpful to share with you -and others- my feelings about a title with some kind of variation of "No Subject". No subject is not a meaningful communication. Many of us receive literally hundreds of pieces of mail each day. It has been my policy to delete without reading, all messages that do not immediately catch my eye as of potential relevance. "Subject: No subject" is one such class of messages don morrison Here is my original message I sent without a subject line: Pam >> Hi Everyone, I am seeking verification and information. I just learned that the parents of Joanna BROWN (b. 12/10/1736 and wife of Samuel HOYT of Hopkinton, NH) may have been Jonathan BROWN (b. 2/24/1700, Hampton, NH) and Joanna Abbey (Abba) (b. 11/15/1706, Exeter, NH) -- daughter of Joseph ABBEY & Abigail SEVERANCE of Salisbury, MA. Here are my questions: 1. Does anyone know if this information is correct and can be verified? 2. Does anyone have any ancestral information about Joseph Abbey & Abigail Severance (such as pertinent dates, names of parents, other children, etc.)? 3. Does anyone know who Jonathan BROWN's parents were? 4. If this information is not readily available, can you suggest sources where I may be able to find verification? (I live down south and do not have access to New England resources.) I am posting this query to three lists in hopes of generating a response or two. For you 'multiple listers,' I ask your patience. If I can help anyone with Joanna Brown's descendants, I'm happy to do so. Thank you in advance to any and all who are able to help me. Sincerely, Pamela Rhett Molzan Charleston, SC Pilgrimpjm@aol.com
