I found the following passage in the Caswell Encyclopedia and was hoping to find a tie in with my own Rye/Isle of Shoals Caswell line. ROBERT CASWELL (CASSELL/CASTELL), Pequot Soldier of Ipswich, 1637: accompanied infamous Rev. Mr. Stephen Batchelder to Hampton, NH, first settler w/other marr. men. 1639: received land grant, Hampton, Rockingham Co, NH, (BOU 867:151) (1637, list #391a, Gen. Dict. of ME & NH, by Sybil Noyes, 974.D2n, SLC) (Ht. of Hampton, NH, 1638-1892, v.I, by Joseph Dow, 974.26/H3,H2d, SLC) The earliest I have been able to take my family back is Robert (Caswell)Kerswell b. abt 1690 d. Bef 1731. Is there any possible link here?? I have been told that he did not settle in Hampton but don't know where he went. Does anyone have any information regarding Ipswich, MA around that time period? Any help or leads you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Mark H. Caswell
