I am looking for information on John Evans who was Town Clerk in Portsmouth, New Hampshire from 1785 until his death in 1791. He was a Revolutionary War Vet. He married Susannah Maarch in 1772 and died in 1791 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He is supposedly buried in the Pleasant Streeet Cemetery in Portsmouth. His children (Mary (1773), Susannah (1775), Richard (1777), John (1780), Samuel (1781), Sarah (1783) and Edmund (1785)) were all born in Portsmouth. Does anyone know who his parents were or where or when he was born? Any information would be appreciated. Brenda
