Bill,I had to download a lot of maps but I finally found Knowles pond. No luck with your Island though. The Lat and Long sure helped (I'm flying the Boeing 777) but you nearly have to down load the entire map to get the coordinates, by that time you may as well download the entire map for future reference. This I didn't mind as being a pilot I enjoy and appreciate calligraphy as it pertains to maps. Maps of NH page <http://docs.unh.edu/nhtopos/NewHampshire.htm> Or go dirctly to the Penacook sectional, South East quadrant, 1927 <http://docs.unh.edu/nhtopos/pena27se.jpg> Knowles pond is in the top left corner The North East quadrant is at <http://docs.unh.edu/nhtopos/pena27ne.jpg> Note that sometimes place names are changed. There is a lake just SW of Whitefield that was called Montgomery Lake after my 3rd Great grandfather which was renamed Burns Pond.in the late 1800s Being Canadian, why do you call your lakes Ponds? To me a Pond is a small dugout or similar with no running water. George, Note that Sanbornton is in the North East quadrant. <http://docs.unh.edu/nhtopos/pena27ne.jpg> Good luck! > Subject: Re: Knowles Pond & Knowles Island > Date: Tue, 20 Apr 1999 15:04:23 -0400 > From: wprokasy <wprokasy@arches.uga.edu> > To: NHROCKIN-L@rootsweb.com > > Knowles Island is located near Hampton, NH.
