Hi, List: I have decided to join those several RootsWeb Mail List Administrators who have voluntarily agreed to allow the addition of commercial messages at the end of each message posted to my lists (i.e., a commercial "tagline"). If the system is working, as I believe it is, there should be such a commercial at the end of this message. While commercials certainly do not enhance our genealogical searches, and they consume substantial bandwidth on the internet, they have become a "necessary evil" to help RootsWeb pay its bills and provide us all these lists free of charge. I hope you will understand. However, if you have strong objections to the policy, please let me know. I promise to pass your comments along to RootsWeb (unless you want to do so directly, yourself). By this announcement, I'm not opening a new topic for discussion by this list, so please email your comments, if any, whether in support or opposition, to me personally. Speaking of my email address, please also note that I'm using the MARSTON.NET address again. I'll soon be dropping my current ISP in favor of a new and MUCH faster ADSL service.
