I just need to add my 2 cents worth. Several years ago I owned a custim frame shop. We were frequenlty asked to frame newspaper articles. We dissolved an alka-seltzer tablet in water, then soaked the newspaper in the solution for several hours. When we removed the paper, we would press it between blotters (do they still make tose?) until dry. We ended up with a white document and had removed the acid. Sue Lang anchorage, AK
