Although it is not a line with connections to my John Knowles family of Hampton, it pops up in a genealogy I just received from the Midwest Historical & Genealogical Society (MHGS) in Wichita, KS. The document I requested is actually a hefty genealogy of the Trefethen & Dalrymple families, abt 90 pgs, pub 1994 and includes profiles of many other NH families, among them the FOSS family.
