I had the same thoughts when I read this message. Although I am in favor of any effort to increase free access to genealogical effort on the internet, and appreciate Debbie's willingness to volunteer, I would like to see efforts concentrated on the USGenWeb, whichI think has the potential to create a kind of a "one-stop" shopping for genealogical information - and all free. I know this thread is kind of off-topic, and perhaps our kind list host will tell us to cease <grin>, but I just had to express my concerns about splintering our efforts. The USGenWeb Project has been a leader in efforts to increase free access to genealogical information over the Internet since April of 1996. Wouldn't it be more productive for those who share this goal to offer assistance to USGenWeb county coordinators, or to offer to adopt counties within that project?
