George, I don't have the answer to your question, but I will try to help. I have a copy of the book by the Rev. Jacob Chapman and he does not list an Ithamar BERRY in the index. He *does* show Ann, 5th child of Joseph PHILBRICK and Triphena MARSTON, b. 13 Jan 1694 (backed up by the Hampton VR), but there is no mention of a marriage to anyone. What is the source of your info? Chapman also has an Ann, 6th child of Thomas PHILBRICK and Mehitable AYRES (dau. of Dalton AYRES), b. 12 Mar 1691, who married Stephen BERRY of Rochester in 1716. I believe that the two Anns you refer to are two different women. Perhaps our host, Dick Marston, will have additional information that I do not.
