She was killed by Indians in 1747 and buried in Nottingham Town Square. Her husband, Andrew Simpson, joined with a Robert Patten in 1725 to buy land granted to veterans of King Philip's War. Land purchased as north side of the fifth street in Nottingham from John Dabney. In 1729 they purchased 70 acres near Beaver Brook in Londonderry from John McKeen. There was also a venture between Robert and William Patten and one John Gridley in 1723. Given the transactions between her husband, Andrew Simpson and Robert Patten, I am guessing that Elizabeth (Patten) Simpson and Robert Patten are related in some way. Her first know child was born in 1720 which would place her birth around 1700. Matthew Patten refers to Robert in his diary as "cousin". Elizabeth is called "of Candia" in most records. It is also recorded that Robert Simpson arrived Boston 1725 aboard the "True Love". I have not personally been able to find a record ot the True Love sailing at that time. Robert and family attended the Brattle Street Church in Boston. Any information that might lead to Elizabeth's parents would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
