Thought you WHITE family researchers might be interested in the "Direct Tax 1816" List, published in the "New Hamsphire Gazette", Vol LXII, issue 24, p4, dated 13 May 1817. It is an almost full-page ad listing all those whose property tax for 1816 remained unpaid as of May 6, 1817. Included under the listing for "New Castle" is: "William C. WHITE - a lot about 50 by 40 ft. and building, adjoining Richard NEAL" ~ Carolyn Depp
