Walter Atkins Todd NORRIS b. 1837 NH d. 1884/1885 Boston MA m. yes, unknown; Morrison: He received an appointment in the post-office department at Washington, DC, at about the time of his father's death, and became chief clerk in one of the divisions. At the outbreak of the Rebellion in 1861, he went south, united his fortunes with the Confederacy, and was on the staff of Gen. Albert Pike, and later on the staff of Gen. Robert E. Lee, and occupied that place at the time of the surrender at Appomattox. After the war he returned to Manchester NH. Fortune did not smile upon him, and after many years of vicissitudes and disappointments, he died of dropsy in the city hospital in Boston, MA about 1884 or 1885.
