    3. Lovely. Would you check out for me Dan Shaw born of William Shaw and Hannah West in Bridgewater Mass 11/15/1758 and died Nov 14, 1814 in Bradford Vermont. He had emigrated from Mass to Lyme NH where, with his first wife Hannah Perkins, he raised a strong family. Dan is my paternal ggg grandfather. Thanks for checking him out. He called himself "Col" and was known that way but I understand that title came from post revolutionary war militia endeavors. His grave is flagged by the VFW. I just need his name and other info that you might have. He joined the State Militia originally, does anyone know if the State has seperate records for the militia and where I could possibly obtain copies? Thank you. M. 3. Dear Deborah, I checked both the DAR patriot index and the Revolutionary War records on Heritage Quest, but I did not find any service records for your Daniel Shaw. However, I did find birth and marriage records for him in the Bridgewater VR. If you would like a copy of those, please let me know. And just because there is no listing for him in the DAR database does not mean he did not serve. It just means that no one so far has made an application as his descendant. And he may not have applied for a pension, nor did his widow, so there might not be records in the NARA. All the best, Karen -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Deborah Shaw Link Sent: Friday, September 15, 2006 1:08 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NHROCKIN] Revolutionary War Records Lovely.
