    1. Mehitable (BELL) WHITE
    2. Carol White
    3. There were two Mehitable Whites. JOhn Simpson's daughter was Mehetabel Sheafe Simpson who married Robert White 12 June 1773 per "copy of Births of Capt. Robert White" from original made by Thomas Frost 27 May 1854. Mehitabel (different spellings, different documents) is mentioned in deeds & probate records #5629, roll #9, 1791; #0231-0375 1812; #0203 - 0460 1814; and #0253 - 0234 1827. I have copies of those deeds/probate records. She is listed in them as the widow of Robert White. I'd be glad to send you a transcript of them. You said you found an ad placed by Mehitable (Bell) White. Were you only speculating that her maiden name was Bell? It doesn't say Bell in the ad. Robert White died before 16 Mar 1791. Mehitable Sheafe Simpson White died 13 Sep 1827 and is buried in the Frost Cemetery in New CAstle. John Simpson's will was entered for probate 16 Jun 1802. (per his will). Did you want sources for all those facts? I can provide them if needed. I need to go do something right now. I'll get back to this asap. thanks for all your help. 3. Thanks *SO* much for reminding me about Mehitable (SIMPSON) WHITE. You are absolutely correct, and it makes *a lot* more sense that his daughter would be handling John's probate details. I got so excited to see the "Mehitable WHITE" advertisement--that I jumped to a VERY big (and VERY hasty) conclusion! Thanks for reminding me that that are (almost!) as many WHITEs in Rockingham County as there are "Joseph AMAZEEN"s <big grin>. ~ Carolyn Depp ----- Original Message ----- From: Carol White To: Carolyn G Depp ; [email protected] Sent: Thursday, March 23, 2006 6:06 PM Subject: Mehitable (BELL) WHITE There were two Mehitable Whites.
