Jim, There are thirty or so pages plus pictures of Campbells in the Windham book with several James Campbells who were born in the time frame to be your James, but I did not see any married to Sarah Burns. There were so many pages that I could have missed it. The History of Windham and a thousand other genealogy books plus census records and Rev War pension files are available online through the Godfrey Memorial Library for just $35 dollars a year. This is the best bargain in genealogy. http://www.godfrey.org/ It might be worth it for you to join to get access to this book and the other records. Susan -- --- Susan C. Holy Mackeral!! What a great response!! I never thought of the fact that the postings are archived, thanks for the reminder, that will be important in the future. I will certainly keep logging the VR's, thanks for all your responses. It can be very tedious unless I can copy & paste (not always the case). The dates of the VRs varies from book to book, the majority of them are early. It only takes a minute to look something up in these books. So please feel free to ask, just keep it to 2 surnames at a time. Thank you all for your responses. Hello: In response to the below posting my Marian. According to the History of Salem, NH by Gilbert: Ann Janette Woodbury was born 1 Apr 1841 to Edward and Ruth (Massey) Woodbury Anjanette Woodbury, age 19, married Alpheus J. Smith, age 29, on 7 Nov 1860 Edward Woodbury married Ruth Massey on 24 Nov 1825 Regards, Bob Hall -----Original Message----- From: marian corbyons [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2005 8:49 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Angenette WOODBURY I am seeking information on ANGENETTE WOODBURY's family, her life, marriage, death, and burial location. She was born 04/01/1841 in New Hampshire and married ALPHEUS JONES SMITH, my great-granduncle, on 11/07/1860, location unknown. Alpheus was born in Salem, NH on 06/13/1831 and died on 05/14/1873 in Haverhill, MA. He is buried in the SMITH family plot at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, but Angenette is not buried with him. There is an Angenette Smith who indicated that she was a widow in the 1910 Haverhill Census. There is also an Angenette Smith living in Haverhill, MA, according to the 1920 Census, as a lodger with the Harvey family, next door to a Woodbury (her maiden name) family. Angenette and Alpheus had a son, EDWARD F. SMITH, who, In the 1900 Census, is listed as being 31 years old and the only-born son of Angenette Smith. His approximate birth year would be 1869. I would also greatly appreciate any information on this son. Alpheus' parents were Francis Smiley SMITH and Susan Catherine JONES; Angenette's parents were, I believe, Edward WOODBURY and Ruth R. MASSEY. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ______________________________

Unfortunately Mark died only a year later in March of 1826. The young widow Mary married Levi Dow in 1829 at age 19 becoming Mary P. (Dow) Cilley Dow. She died in 1856 at age 45. What do you think? I am seeking Vital facts re James Campbell of Windham, NH, who, I believe, was married to Sarah Burns of Bedford, NH on or about June 13, 1786. Sarah was b. in 1766. When was James Campbell born, who were his parents, and where did he live after marriage? Perhaps he is mentioned in the History of Windham, NH, a book to which I have no access. Could someone look up this information? I will return the favor if at all possible. Thanks for anything you can find. James White, Brookline, MA.
