I am researching the Martin Family. Cecelia Martin, born 4/4/1900 Ireland and died 7/15/1966 in North Hampton, New Hampshire was married to my uncle Patrick Martin. They had twin daughters Patricia and Cecelia. Patrick was a riding instructor and the girls were good riders. Does anyone know where I might find Cecelia's obituary? Nancy
Hi Searching for ID on Maria C.Lamprey, born NH probably between 1770-1790. Married William Boyd, had son William in Kingston NH nov 1810. She might have been a Lamprey by birth, or from a previous marriage and the initial C is her maiden name It is also possible C stands for a real first name. I have found 2 women in my tree who switched their first and middle names whenever they felt like it! Thanks, Sue Windsor CT

The first record found of him was 1820 Census Marlboro County, S C with him being listed as head of household containing 3 males between the ages of 16 and 25. He married Catherine A.(unknown), born abt 1808, in Cheraw, Chesterfield County, S C. He died Aug 20, 1828 in Cheraw. His obit in the Southern Radical, Cheraw, stated he was 30 yrs old and a native of EXETER, NEW HAMPSHIRE. The obit in the Portsmouth Journal, Portsmourh, N H., stated he was formerly a resident of that city. Exeter and Portsmouth are both in Rockingham County, N H. They had 3 sons, all born in Cheraw; John A ( my GGGrandfather ), Charles William, and Thomas L. On a Census for one son, the place of birth of father was listed as N H.; another son said foreign born. A current family member claims he was born in Bath, N C ( which is now in Beaufort County ). Have been unable to locate the names of his parents or siblings if any. I appreciate any help and willing to share what info I have. Charlie L Gale Hartwell, Ga.
Susan, I didn't see your earlier notes so don't know in what time period your looking. According to "New Hampshire 1742 Estate List" by Pauline Johnson Oesterlin, there were five Boyd's in 1742 in NH. Arthur in Londonderry; Samuel in Litchfield; Samuel in Londonderry; Thomas in Hampton Falls (he's listed as Boid); Thomas in Londonderry. I was thinking it is possible he was from Londonderry because of the info in "The Blair Family of New England" by Emily Wilder Leavitt. In this book p.23 is information on the Rev. William Boyd who left northern Ireland (Londonderry) with many people in five ships in 1718, for Boston, MA, they soon settled in Londonderry, NH. Also, in "Notices From The New Hampshire Gazette, 1765-1800" by Otis G. Hammond, p. 173 "1800, May 6, Isaac Boyd of Londonderry, NH, was drowned Apr 28, 1800 at Portsmouth, NH in his 29th year his brother William was rescued." Hope some of this is of help to you. Thank you, Mary Ellen, a huge help as always! Hmmm, now how to find out about William Boyd. I know when, where he was born. I know the names of both his wives, their lineages and all the children they had, all born in Manchester NH. I know his occupation, where he lived, when he died, in short, everything except about his parents. All i know is they were both born in NH. According to his death cert. they were William Boyd and Maria C. Lamprey. I am lost as to where to look next. Hello Angie and Caroline, Caroline, I've corresponded extensively with you regarding the Tredick line in New Castle. William C. and Sarah Mitchell Randall White had Isaac b.1808, a daughter b. abt 1810 and d. aft 1820, a male possibly Joseph b. abt 1812 and a female possibly Mary b. abt 1814. The children were listed in William's Rev. War pension file. He also had 5 children from his first wife. Mary C. who married Thomas Beal is a child of his first wife, Mehitable Bell. Thomas Beal and Mary White had a son named Thomas Beal who married Rebecca Yeaton the daughter of Barnabus Yeaton. He also married Rebeccas' sister before he married Rebecca. The sister had a daughter named Abbie. I can not find much about Abbie except she is buried with her mother at Riverside Cemetery in New Castle, NH. As is Thomas and Rebecca (Yeaton) Beal. Thomas Beal Jr., could not have married Rebecca's sister. The sister who married a Thomas Beal was Grace b. 28 Nov 1805 and she died 15 Jan 1880. She married Thomas Beal 5 Jan 1827 In 1827 Thomas Jr. was only 13 years old (b. 8 Mar 1814). Could Grace have married the father? There's a 20 year difference (probably) between them but I think it's possible. Grace Beal shows up in the 1840 (head of household), 1860 (age 55 - b. abt 1805) and 1870 (age 65, b. abt 1805)New Castle censuses. I find Abby in the 1860 (age 32, b. abt 1828) and 1870 (age 43, b. abt 1827) New CAstle censuses. I think Abby is Abigail A. who was b. abt 1828, d 31 Aug 1891. I have Mehitabel Bell who m. William Cooper White 27 Jan 1788 as the child of Thomas and Mary Bell of New CAstle. What other info. can I share with you? Carol

I'd also like to join in this discussion! Although I don't have much direct WHITE family information, I am *VERY* interested in all the local BELL family data I can inter-connect. Do either of you have any idea who the parents of "Mehitable BELL" might have been? Sometime after 1824 tow of his sons, Stephen Caswell (born 1789 died 1862) and Isaac Caswell, came to live on the hill above Long Pond (south of my wife's grandparent's house). These brothers lived in this house (no longer standing since 1892) and built a house across the street. The house across the street was built abt 1840 by Stephen Caswell. Stephen and his wife Lydia had several chilrden including Adaline and Eliza. Adaline married the John Richardson listed below. My wife's family lives on the property in Northwood known as Northern Acres. The homestead was settled sometime in 1812 when John Rundlet (died 1812) built the first house (near the top of Richardson's Hill). There is a cemetary there with quite a few Richardson's buried there. John Rundlett married a Betsey (died abt 1838). They had at least one daughter Mary who inherited the property along with her husband Edward Richardson. Mary & Edward had a son John. John married the neighbor's daughter across the street Adaline Casell (daughter of Stephen and Lydia Caswell who built house in 1840). They had a son Daniel Webster Richardson (died 1917). Daniel had no children. My wife's grandparent Geraldine "Gerry" Ritza bought the house and property in 1933, known as at Northern Acres. Geraldine was married twice before she married Robert Wiley, who has one son Robert Lynn MacGruder Wiley, my wife Kathryn's father.
