There was a town in New Hampshire, called Great Falls. It split into two towns, Somersworth and Rollinsford. They are on the Maine border. That part of Maine is in York county. So, I am sure that Somersworth was erroneously listed as being in York County, Maine. On the Maine side, Berwick abuts Somersworth. VRs of Berwick have been published, including the church records. I have the marriage registers for the two Catholic churches in Somersworth. Neither lists any Milton or Trickey. I did not find William in the 1850 or 1860 censuses. Where was he, and under which surname? If Francis was born in Maine, the record would be with the Town Clerk. The state did not start keeping vital records until 1892. Also, did you find him in the 1840 census in the town or county of Lincoln? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I know he married twice: 1) Olive Pierce (1790-1834), after that he married 2) Pheba Moody (1799-1883). The second marriage date was November 1837 in Rochester, NH after the death of his first wife. I tracked William and his second wife to Lincoln, Maine in 1840 census. I am looking to see if they may have had a son named Francis A (Franklin A) Trickey/Milton born in 1844. Franklin is my 3x great grandfather and I have not been able to prove who Franklin A Milton's parents are. Franklin lived with William Tyler Trickey/Milton and Pheba, but also with them is Thomas (William's son from first marriage) on census of 1850 and 1860. It is possible that Francis/Franklin could be the son of William from his second marriage or perhaps he is Thomas Milton's son from an unknown marriage. From what I can gather according to Franklin's Civil War Papers, hi! s given name was Francis and he was born in Somersworth, York County, Maine which is so close to NH that perhaps his parents were living in either place. Anyone have any research pointers for me?? I will take any leads!! Thanks, Janice Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My husband bought me a piece of mourning jewelry with the following engraved on the back; Isaac Mansfield April 26, 1850 Ae 64 Yrs. He bought it from a dealer from Wallingford, Conn, who said it had come from a Meriden, Conn estate...but, who knows. I googled Isaac and found what must be the same fella...he was listed as being born Dec, 1786 in Exeter, Rockingham NH and d Ap;ril 26, 1850 (so I can't imagine this isn't the fella I'm looking for.) The online info said he married Mary A. Smith Avery on July 9, 1812 in Boston, Suffolk, Mass. I would sure love to know about Isaac, and find, perhaps a family member who would like pictures of this touching death jewelry....it has a small glass container that has a braid of hair in it, surrounded by black enamel and a gold rim and back. Good Afternoon, I am looking for information about my 4x great Grandfather Simeon Morgan, whom I have just tracked to having been born in New Hampshire. Some wonderful folk on a mailing list from Maine have actually steered me in this direction. Simeon would have been born around 1750-1755 and was married to Lydia who was born around 1756 and if I found the right Lydia she died in 1850 Both were born in New Hampshire and Simeon was born in Brentwood New Hampshire. I don't have a maiden name for Lydia. The information that I do have is as follows. Simeon and Lydia have a son named David Morgan, if I read the information correctly they may also have a son named Levi Levi was born 1774 New Hampshire and died 16 Mar 1863 Kennebec, Maine. He was married to Nancy Brown born 1775 and I am guessing also in New Hampshire. She died 30 Nov 1861 Kennebec Maine. David was born 1779 Brentwood, New Hampshire and died 1 Jan 1844 Farmingdale, Kennibec, Maine. He was married 3 times Alphia Whittum (Wittum) born 1791 Salsbury, New Hampshire died 18 Jan 1847 Farmingdale, Kennebec, Maine Also married to Lavinia Moore and Elizabeth Winter. Many of these folk were recently found for me in the Hollowell Village Cemetery in Hollowell Maine. I think David was married to Alphia around 1825, but he had children in 1813 so the list of 9 children that I have for David, I am guessing are with the different wives. In addition, I found a tree on Ancestry that shows the dates I am looking for, for my Simeon, however it appears to have 2 different Simeons connected and the one that it keeps looping me back to is a young man that was Killed at Fort Groton at 17 years of ages. The information does not completey match. It shows that Simeons was born in 17 Sept 1755 an died 6 Sept 1781, making him 26 years old. However the obit connected states that he died at 17 years old, "In the bloom of youth" The 17 yer old could not be my Simeon, even though it would be nice to claim a hero. My Simeon had a couple of children. Any help finding information on Simeon and his family would and is greatly appreciated. Thank you Barbara Ann Phillips bphil4@earthlink.net
