Rockin Rooters: George F. Sanborn, Jr., F.A.S.G., Editorial and Production Assistant of the NEH&GR, and Sanborn Family Association Genealogist, (and subscriber to this list), has recently updated us on the status of the research on the identity of the husband of Ann Bachiler, a SAMBORNE, and the father of Hampton's Lt. John SAMBORNE (and brothers, William and Stephen). With his kind permission, and that of the editor of "Sanborn Signatures" (newsletter of the Sanborn Family Association), Charles A. Watson, I have scanned his report and added it to Marston Manor for your review and information. Fred, Page 1202 of Vol III of the Folsom Genealogy in reference to the children of Moses NORRIS and Ruth FOLSOM says, "For further details on them and their families and descendants, please refer to the 'Norris Family in America,' 1640-1892, by Leonard Allison Morrison (Boston, 1892)" Our database gives no further clues as to the maiden name of Mary the wife of James Norris but I do have info on Ruth's heritage and some limited info on her descendants. Dear Rockin' Rooters, Many BEEDEs were born, lived, and died in Rockingham County but I have never seen this surname mentioned on this list (that I remember). I would like to change that with this message. I am currently interested in the Bezaleel BEEDE described below. However, I am also interested in any and all BEEDEs (or BEEDYs) from Rockingham County (or anywhere else) and would appreciate any information you are willing to share. I have *much* more information about the BEEDE/BEEDY family if you are interested. I wish you all the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of New Years. Jack ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------- Descendants of Bezaleel BEEDE - 20 Dec 1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------- FIRST GENERATION 1. Bezaleel BEEDE was born on 22 Aug 1759 in Brentwood (now Fremont), Rockingham Co., NH. He died in Pike Co., NY. He served in the War of the Revolution 8 Sep 1777 to 16 Dec 1777. He moved to Gilmanton, NH where his first son Aaron was born. Later he moved to Stafford, VT while that county was young and sparsely settled. [NOTE: It is possible, based on the above paragraph, that the Bezaleel Jr. listed below was not, in fact, his son. However, I have much information about him and have placed him there while I search for a better place to put him] He was married to Judith MORGAN on 18 Dec 1782. [Note: Although there is evidence that Bezaleel had sons named Daniel and John, I have been unable to find absolute proof that the ones I have assigned to him are the right ones.] Bezaleel BEEDE and Judith MORGAN had the following children: +2 i. Bezaleel BEEDE Jr.. +3 ii. Aaron BEEDE. +4 iii. Daniel A. BEEDY. +5 iv. John BEEDY. 6 v. Joseph BEEDE was born in 1808. He died in 1887. 7 vi. Kezia BEEDE.

I am trying to get any and all information about my great grandfather Alexander FISHER. I have: a copy of the page from the 1850 Census that shows him, his wife Susan, 5 children and an older lady named HOLBROOK. I would assume she may be a mother-in-law? I was told Susan FISHER shows up on some death notices in 1855 as death in East Boston but buried in Cotton Cemetery in Portsmouth. I have no records and would like some if available. I was told Andrew FISHER is listed in the Portsmouth city directories for 1850 and 1851 but none after which is consistent with his move to Boston. I will be happy to pay for any photocopies someone could provide. The 1850 census leads me to believe Alexander was born around 1818. My Grandfather's birth certificate lists Portsmouth, NH as place of birth for Alexander. I would like any other records especially if I can get names for a mother and father for Alexander. I would like marriage records for Alexander and Susan. I have been unable to locate any death records. Tom Fisher - E-mail: tfisher43@aol.com or tfisher43@iname.com

Help? I just came across an old biography (published in1897) while researching my 3g grandfather Benjamin WILSON in Sheboygan, WI and my 2g grandfather William WILSON b. 9-12-1846 in NY d. 9-1-1914 in Grand Traverse Co.,MI. The article states that " Benjamin WILSON was a fourth generation descendant of Alexander WILSON, who came from Londonderry, Ireland to Londonderry, New Hampshire, in 1719. He was a native of Northern Ireland, of Scotch ancestry, like all of his neighbors. He settled on one of the "exempted farms", and on account of his heroic service at the siege of Londonderry, Ireland in 1688-89, was exempted from taxation as long as the colony remained under British rule. He died there March 4, 1742 aged ninety-three years." Since I am fairly new at this and have just been bitten by the "bug." I am at a loss. Is there anything in Londonderry lookups that will help me fill in the missing four generations? I am unfamiliar with the historical references in the article. Thank you David Taylor Grand Rapids, MI kiwi@voyager.net
I took the persons name off the original message. I will agree that NEHGS does have a lot of material. I was a long time member, 11 years. It's not for everyone. I have been a member of many genealogical associations. The personnel there can and will unload on you. Good Morning Rooters, A good point was made about this information being available to you thru the New England Historical Genealogical Society. I believe anyone who has real connections to Danville should look into it. I would hope that you all would be interested in having the real source as part of your library at home, there's nothing like the real thing. If you don't know their web site here it is >>> www.nehgs.org I'm doing this for a majority of us (including myself) that have been sinking in the vast sea of information and often times missed the life preserver when it comes available to us, and in a way thanking the numbers of you that have contributed your information and time freely. For those of you who have sent your thank you to me for this information I would like to say DITTO. Last of all I would encourage all of us to think about the effort that rootsweb has put forth in this endevour. Personally for me I'm hoping that a new lead will come forth from someone that knows Alexander Campbell and Jeannit (?) who arrived in NH in 1728 from Ulster, NI and was resident to Danville and Newton and owned land in Chester as well. Their son Annis Campbell lived in Kingston, NH. Some other members moved to Henniker where I found a lot of good information, but still little on Alexander or Jeannit. I will let you know that Alex was one of the first to plant the Irish potatoe in New Hampshire. Ok, here are the VRs for the years 1766 & 1767. Do note that there is some difference in spelling between the births and baptisms. Be advised, I am spelling Them the way they are in the book. (for instance b. Miriam Bachelor and bap. In the "History of Old Chester NH from 1719 to 1869" which was publised in 1869 by Benjamin Chase and reprinted by Heritage Books in 1992 there are genealogies for some 100 surnames, some extensive and some very brief. If anyone is researching the following surnames, particularly those in the Massachusetts/New Hampshire area, I have listed the names below: Aiken Crosett Hall* Patten Ambrose Currier* Haseltine* Prescott Andrewson Davis Head Robie* Basford Dickey Healey Sargent* Bachelder Dearborn* Hills* Seavey Bean Dexter Hoit Severance Bell Dinsmore Ingalls Shackford Berry Dolby Kittridge Shirley Blake Dudley Knowles Sleeper Blanchard Dunlap Lane* Smith* Blasdell Dustin Linn Tenney Boid Eaton* Locke Todd Bradstreet Elliot Lufkin Tolford Brown* Emerson* Martin Towle Bricket Emery Marden Townsend Butterfield Fitts* McLento True Burpee Flagg McClure Underhill Buswell Folsom* McDuffee Varnum Calfe Forsaith* McFarland Wason Carr/Kerr Foss McKinley Webster Chase* Fowler Melvin West Clay French* Miller White Clifford Fullonton Mills Whittier Colby* Gault Morse* Wilson* Craige* Gilchrist* Moore Witherspoon Crawford* Goodhue Murray Wood Critchet Graham Morton Worthen Crombie Griffin Otterson Ralph Forsaith callcats@sover.net
Dear List, Seeing the references on the list to the published Danville, N.H., Vital Records, I thought some of you would like to know that the last few copies of that book are available from the Sales Department of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston. Call their toll-free number to get price and ordering information (I seem to recall that the price is only about $10.00 per copy, plus shipping). Call: 1-888-296-3447 during regular business hours. Regards, George

Hi Glenn, How about James Campbell?! He (of Chester) and my 5th great grandfather Robert Clark (of Londonderry NH) bought a piece of property in Londonderry NH, from John McLaughlin, 16 Sep 1749. I have extracted data from all the deeds Robert Clark was involved in during his life in NH and am in the process of transcribing them. I have a copy of this one but haven't transcribed it yet. The only Alexander mentioned is Caldwell and wife Margaret. Bolton's _Scotch-Irish Pioneers in Ulster and America_ doesn't mention Alexander Campbell either - only Charles, Cornelius, Daniel, George, Hugh, Rev. Hugh, James, John, Margaret, Patrick, Robert, Samuel, and William are in the index. Thanks for posting the Danville VRs!
