    3. Allan: Can't help you re Betsey, but I've always wondered if perhaps his mother was a Kingsley/Kinsley. Where else would the name have come from (all the Kingsley's I've been able to find in that time frame were in or around Dorchester)? Do you know? My descent is thru Kinsley's sister, Phaltiel. 2. Happy New Year to the Rockingham List. Charles, When I made my last trip to Ft. Wayne Library I copied pages from: Book of Nutfield, NY by George F. Willey, 1895. I think Nutfield is now Londonderry. There is an article The Hill Graveyard, p. 34. It mentions McCOLLOM, DUNCANS, BELL, PINKERTON, SCOBIE, CRAIG, ALEXANDER and OUGHTTERSON. Also, THOMPSON, CAMPBELL, TAGGART, DICKEY, CLARK, AIKENS, MACK and McALLISTERS. Also mentioned in the article is John BARNARD and McKEEN. Another article on p. 35, about George Willard PERKINS s/o Deacon John & Mary SEARLE PERKINS. On p. 117 is an article "Inscriptions in the Hill Graveyard, Londonderry. There are more names mentioned here. Looks like burials started abt 1745/50. Hope this is of help to you. Alyce in MI.

    2. Charles Brack
    3. I am interested in the family of Abraham HOLMES or HOMES, Ulster Scot immigrant ca 1718 who settled at Nutfield. I am particularly interested in Abraham's son John, who reportedly died there 1777. I have been unable to find any will or place of burial. This family signed an intent to move into what is now Lincoln Co., Maine in the 1720-30 period. The records are sparse in that area. Does anyone have any death date, death place information on John Holmes? thanks, Charles

    2. MRS KATHI A ABENDROTH
    3. -- [ From: Kathi Judkins Abendroth * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- Happy New Year to all the Rooters", I'd like to pass along a tip to those people who find it hard to access New England information close by to their residences. One of my biggest helps was joining the New England Historic Genealogical Society, 101 Newbury St., Boston, MA 02116-3007 (617) 536-5740. They have a marvelous circulating library that as a member you can rent books from at a very reasonable rate. They have a web page but I don't know the URL at the moment. I live on the west coast and this organization & their lending library has been a goodsend for me throughout the years. I also think it's a good idea to join a genealogical society within the area you are interested it. Those two resources and an LDS library in your area and you should be able to find yourself capable of putting your New England line together. Of course the NH-Rockingham list is a big help also. 1. Re[2]: Danville VR's
    2. Kathi: Thanks for the look-up offer. I am having some difficulty tracing one of my Rockingham County ancestors and thought some info could be found in NH Genealogical Digest 1623-1900 or A surname guide to both New Hampshire & Massachusetts (hopefully). The question: verifying Sidney E. Welch's parents' names and getting the maiden name of his mother. Details: Sidney Welch b. 1861 Derry, NH. Father: Jonathan P. Welch b. 1822 (or 1821) in NH. Mother (Jonathan's wife): Ann or Mary Welch b. (very approximate) early 1830's. I'd love to know what Ann and/or Mary Welch's maiden name was. Any more info. needed, please let me know. Thanks Kathryn Welch ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: Danville VR's Author: <NHROCKIN-L@rootsweb.com > at Internet Date: 12/26/98 4:38 PM -- [ From: Kathi Judkins Abendroth * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- Hello All, I too agree with Laird Towle. Danville, has at least two books in print which have their vital records which with a small bit of research, the publishing companies could be found in order to purchase this information. If the gentleman listing these records wants to keep doing this he might start up his own page about Danville, NH and list the info there. I don't want to sound like the grinch either but it sure would be nice if people would also learn to clean up the note that they are referring to when answering a query. I don't like re-reading a note I read the day before. It is possible to just include the pertainent parts of a previous note and exclude what's not needed. Just to prove I'm not a grinch, I list here books you may be looking for info in, which I'll be glad to look up for you ................... 2. Bagnall, Clark
    3. Laird, Does this mean you hold the copyright on these records? :-) Seriously, I tend to agree; the list should not duplicate resources that are already in print, however scarce. On the other hand, making the list aware of hard-to-find resources you have copies of, may not be a bad idea. Clark Bagnall -----Original Message----- From: LairdTowle@aol.com [SMTP:LairdTowle@aol.com] Sent: 23 December 1998 15:17 PM To: NHROCKIN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Danville Vital Records Hi All: My understanding of the purpose of this mailing list is that it is intended to be a place for subscribers to post genealogical problems so that other subscribers can help them. In other words, it should consist of questions and answers. I don't wish to be the grinch who stole Christmas, but it does not seen to me that this mailing list is a suitable place to republish enmass the Danville Vital Records, or any other such material publishished or unpublished, except in response to particular questions from other list members. If we all started publishing the Rockingham County material we have at hand, the list would soon be clogged with unneeded and unwanted emails which, it seems to me, verge on being spam. Am I along in feeling this is a diversion, albeit well intentioned, from our real intent? Laird Towle ______________________________
