Does anyone have any information on Luther SILLOWAY and his wife Sarah BEAN? They were both born in Rockingham Co., NH in early 1800. Thanks. Cindy Gladstone, OR
G'day My apologies for this off-topic message but as part of setting up a new computer I have managed to lose all my unanswered e-mail messages, and there was quite a few of them. They included messages from a number of people who had contacted me for the first time. Would anyone who had contacted me in the last couple of weeks, and is waiting for a reply, please re-send their message. Thanks Peter Davis Coffee Camp Australia
My great-aunt has told me that WRIGHT'S ISLAND was just the name of a salt marsh in Seabrook Nh. She told me that my grandfather George Nelson Eaton was the last one to own it that she knew of. She didn't think that anyone ever lived on it. In researching my Wright nd Souther line I find that they lived on Wright's Island in Seabrook. Salisbury has a neighborhood that is called Ring's Island. That was maybe once surrounded by water at one time. Could what I am hearing be a similar case? Could Wright's Island be a neighborhood? Does any one have any ideas? Thank you Gladys http://community.webtv.net/sassypup/GLADYSWEBPAGEABOUT
Greetings , and thank you all for your help in my search for Alexander and Dorothy Spinney. It proves my hunch that there were two Alexander Spinneys in the area. Alexander and Zillah were the 'other' couple. I can now refine my search to the Newmarket-Durham-Lee triangle. Is there any information available for this area? Thanks Richard
I am hoping to connect Timothy Tilton (b. May 1783 in Loudon , Merrimack , NH ) with a Timothy Tilton ( 1783-1860) buried in Exeter , NH Cemetery . Timothy of Loudon's parents were Nathan Tilton (b. East Kingston 1755-d. Hampton Falls 1805) married Susannah Gale in 1780 . I believe Timothy in Exeter had a daughter Lucy and a son Nathan B. Possibly a son Joseph E. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Mahalo , Kevin
Yes, the house is still standing and owned by the Academy. Extensive renovations are now going on to turn it into apartments for faculty. While it is not adjacent to the main campus, it is backed up by the athletic field. It is just off Front St. which is the street leading from downtown Exeter towards Hampton. I work with a woman whose husband is in charge of the Biology Dept. at the Academy and she is the source of my information. In fact they just looked at one of the apartments but decided against it. Sorry I don't know the house's history or who built it but thought you would be glad to know it is still in great shape. Joyce Collins Tebbetts Davies in Kingston, NH
Hi everyone, Does anyone out here have the book of Dow out there that is not by Robet Percy Dow? I know there is another one written after his. I hate to write tthe town clerk in Salisbury just to find out one answer. I know that they have it down there and that's where she got a lot of the info that she sent me. I can't remember the author of it thougjh. This is probably the only place that I will find my information that I so badly need. If anyone has one or is able to get their hands on one, please contact me if your willing to do a small look up for me. Thank you so much Gladys http://community.webtv.net/sassypup/GLADYSWEBPAGEABOUT

I found a Sarah Platt born to James (born 1755 in Rowley, revelutionary soldier) and Mary Warner (b. Nov. 1755 a child Sarah b. September 10, 1789. (She had many sisters & brothers which I will send to you if you think this fits. Also I found the marriageof Stephen Pierce and Sarah Platts under Londonderry marriages (not listed under marriage intentions) but no date given. It said Res. New Ipswich, NH.Also under marriages was listed Sarah Platts and Reuben Walker , Oct. 26, 1809, Res Manchester, NH. There was a Srah Platts listed under deaths March 14, 1864. The book did no give a listing for abbreviations but I imagine the res. stood for residence which could meanStephenwas from New Ipswich. The book did not have listings for Piece in Londonderry and not many Platts. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Barbwir406@aol.com> To: <NHROCKIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 1999 1:41 PM Subject: Londonderry-Platt-Late 1700's > Hi Rockers... > > Back again, for good I hope, after a long absence due to health problems. > > The following information was found on the death certificate of my 2 ggf, > Wes(t)ley B. Hi Rockers... Back again, for good I hope, after a long absence due to health problems. The following information was found on the death certificate of my 2 ggf, Wes(t)ley B. Pirece who was born 9 June 1825 in Peterboro, NH; d. 9 Jan 1902 in Norwich, CT. Father: Stephen Pierce b. ?, New Hampshire Mother: SARAH PLATT OF LONDONDERRY, NH Using Westley's dob as a base, it seems she was probably born right around the turn of the century. If anyone has information on the Platts of Londonderry, I certainly would appreciate hearing from them. It goes without saying that anything on Stephen Pierce would also be welcome. Thanks for your help, Barbara Hanscom Stuart
Did the state of New Hampshire issue Revolutionary War Pensions apart from the Federal government ? If so where would I find this information or other information about men who served in New Hampshire but maybe did not apply for pensions?Any information appreciated. Becky
For the Rockingham County wills you would need to visit the Brentwood County Courthouse. They keep all wills/documents , etc., there. For a small fee they will copy the information for you. Andy

Does anyone have a copy or access to the 1810 Census who could look up the following: Hannah GORRILL - Rockingham Co, p. 125, township Pelham John GORRILL - Rockingham Co, p. 69 Salem The latter of the two is listed on the page before Nathaniel GORRILL for whom I'm desperately trying to find information. All I know is his dob and the name of his wife, Jane ARMOUR. These could be important leads. Many, many thanks in advance. -- Magdalena Gorrell Guimaraens In Northern Portugal Researching: England: ALLOTT, BERRUMET, BOYNTON, COODE, GLOBE, HARDAKER, HODGKINSON, LEESE, MILLAIS USA: BOYNTON, BACHELDER, FOGG, CLOUGH, COOK, GORRELL, HAM, OSGOOD, WHICHER/WHITTIER CHILE: BUCHANAN, LEESE

I am trying to determine who is the correct spouse for Jonathan SEAVEY b.1732 of Greenland, NH s/o Samuel SEAVEY & Abigail FOSS. Jonathan's children: Comfort b.1756 m. Jonathan Tasker Levi 1760-1830 m. Olive Place Joseph 1762-1812 m1 Abigail Cummings m2 Polly Cate Jonathan 1758-1846 m1 Priscilla Philbrick m2 Sarah Towle Simon 1765-1848 m. Molly Randall Parsons' History of Rye, Louise Tallman's Rye Families-Seavey & Crockett Harrisons's Seavey book all have Jonathan Seavey m. Stevens with the above children The Hall Collection (of Seavey families) has Jonathan Seavey m. Comfort Cate bp.1729 with the same children. The Hall Collection non-Seavey section also has Tucker Cate m. Mary Sanborn with 10 children including Comfort Cate bp.1729 m. Jonathan Seavey. Tucker Cate is s/o Edward Cate (see GDMNH p.132). Given the first child's name of Comfort, and that child Joseph m. a Cate, this is some argument that it 'could' be Comfort Cate, but not very strong. Does anyone have more or better information on Jonathan SEAVEY's spouse??? I have an incomplete note that there may be info about Jonathan's marriage in Rye Church Records. Can anyone confirm this. In my notes I have that Bessie I. Seavey Perkins (Mrs. Elton Perkins), South Tamworth, NH might have more info on this family. Does anyone know her, or live near Tamworth so they could tell me if she is still there, or perhaps a family member that might have the info? I found a listing for a Barbara Perkins, but the number was disconnected. There may be some other Perkins. Thank you for any help you can give. Tom Sevy sevy99@deseretonline.com
