My 6th great grandmother, Phebe Sanborn, was b. 6 Feb 1705/1706 in Hampton, Rockingham, NH. I have that she married Nathaniel Pease on 4 Nov 1725, but I don't know where. I have that she m. 2nd, John Stevens (don't know when or where). The other information I'm lacking is when and where she died. She was the d/o John Sanborn, b. 6 Nov 1681, and Sarah Philbrick, b. 11 June1682, both of Hampton, NH. I'm hoping that someone on the list can provide me with some of the missing information above as well as the sources. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give me. Seeking information on Elaine BALL alive April 26 1952. In my uncle's marriage announcement in the Haverhill Gazette datad April 26 1952 it mentions a Miss Elaine BALL. My uncle has passed away and I am not in contact with his children. They were not raised in Haverhill so they may not know who she is/was, as I do not know who she is either and I lived in Haverhill and visited every year during my childhood. My uncle was Raymond Ellsworth BALL and he married Jean MOODY d/o Mr. & Mrs. Elliott F. Moody of Haverhill. Raymond was the son of Wilbur Fiske BALL and Beatrice Emma GEORGE of Haverhill. Wilbur had a brother Herbert Francis BALL b. 27 Aug 1900 in Bradford. He died Feb 1975 in Haverhill. I do not have a wife for him or a family. My father who is still alive does not know anything about him. Elaine is PROBABLY the daughter of Herbert but I do not know for sure. Also, does anyone know anything about the VESPER GEORGE SCHOOL of ART? Thanks, Cherryl BALL
Hello fellow researchers: I am researching CLENDENEN in NH and in NJ. In Londonderry, Archibald Clendenen and his wife co-founded the town ca 1719. I believe one of their children, ROBERT may have moved on to Sussex Co NJ. Is there any history that might support this idea ? I am interested in the history of Londonderry NH and the movement of the settlers descendants. Any help would be appreciated. Derek in Canada
Hi Derik, Tried to send this just to you Derik, but for some reason, it wouldn't send, so am sending it to the list. Don't know if this is any help to you or not, but a book I have, "Inhabitants of New Hampshire 1776," by Emily S. Wilson shows a Robt. Clendinin (this is how it is spelled in the book) as signing the Association Test and living in Londonderry. Other's with the last name Clendinin, also living in Londonderry, who signed the Association are Andrew and David. Linda, The info I have says that Charles Moulton moved to Wakefield Mass @ 1814. Jonathan was born there (1815). That may be a place to look for an earlier marriage. Also, Olive Rand was from Rye so there may be some records there the would give a lead. Hope this gives you a direction to try. Good luck. Jan

Hi Betty, There is a unique manuscript collection on early Candia families at the Candia Public Library (can't remember the author). It is very good, and as far as I know has never been microfilmed or copied in extenso. Perhaps the library staff would photocopy the Bean section, for example, for you. Try giving them a phone call (not sure of their hours, so keep trying). It's a small country library and not open all the time. I think this manuscript might help you. I received the following from ROOTSWEB this morning: NEWS AND NOTES AT ROOTSWEB ANNNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE CEO, by Robert R. Tillman o ROOTSWEB DOWN FOR MOST OF WEEKEND. Last week we announced that RootsWeb had put in place the new 45 Mbit/second DS-3 line. Over the weekend, this line failed due to problems in the network of our DS-3 vendor. By late Monday, the problem was fixed. We regret the inconvenience. As you might imagine, the weekend was sleepless for many members of the RootsWeb staff. -- Dick Marston Administrator: NHROCKIN mail list
I have just spent 15 more hours in Fort Wayne, IN, at the Allen Co. Library researching my ever elusive Mary Bean ( born in Candia, Rockingham Co., NH; married True Thrasher in Deerfield, NH, in June of 1809; died August 6, 1866, in Delaware Co., OH). I have not been able to pinpoint the correct parents for her. There seem to be hundreds of Mary Beans, but most of them I can rule out. I started making a list of possible parents for her. First on my list in Reuben Bean and Joanna Dudley, living in Candia in 1790 with three sons and three daughters, all born in Candia. According to John Bean of Exeter, the sons' names are Moses, Reuben, and Dudley. The daughters' names are not given. Does anyone have information concerning the daughters - or any other information that might lead me to my Mary Bean? Many, many thanks! Betty A.
