Hello All, I am new to the list and desperately looking for the David Hayden family of 1850. The were in Hartland, ME for the 1830 and 1840 census and in Brookfield, MA for the 1855 State census. However, David was not with them in 1855 and I have been unable to locate any further record of him. Believe Hannah, the daughter of David and Betsy Hayden may have been married in Nashua, NH (before 1855) and so assume the family spent some time in the area before arriving in Massachusetts. Below is the 1855 MA State Census of Brookfield, MA showing this family. 216 277 Betsey Hayden 51 b. Maine Levina F. Hayden 20 b. Maine Uzzial H. Hayden 15 b. Maine Charles H. Hoisington 21 b. Vermont (laborer) Hannah R. Hoisington 17 b. Maine Emma F. Peabody 5 b. New Hampshire 346 421 Charles Hayden 15 b. Massachusetts Staying at William M. Moulton's Inn David's son Charles is my direct. He is in Brookfield, MA and have some records for him. I have never seen the Uzzial H. Hayden or Emma F. Peabody found with Betsey above in any other records with this family. Uzzial is Betsy's father's name so I am assuming this is a son of Betsey and David, though he is never mentioned in any other records I can find. Emma is just 5 years old and born in NH, she is a total mystery. Still with the unusual name of Uzzial I am hoping to learn more about him and hopefully solve the mystery of Emma Peabody and the fate of David as well. Would appreciate any information on any of these individual, as well as any Haydens which may have been in the area. Have no idea why they left their families in Maine and went to MA where as far as I can tell they knew no one. Many Thanks in Advance, Julie Hayden Hayden Computing Ideas North Brookfield, MA 01535 (508) 867-5258 hayden@tiac.net
