In my search for Daniel Clark and wife Betsey Patterson in NH, I have on loan the New Boston Town Records from 1801 through 1820(?) on microfilm loan at a nearby FHC. These are very clear and legible, and I was able to find Daniel listed from 1801 through 1815. In 1810, he is a Lt., and a Capt. from 1811 through 1815. War of 1812? If you have any ancestors who lived in New Boston early 19th century, let me know, and I'll be happy to see if they are listed. I won't be able to get back to the FHC until next Monday, the 27th. Daniel, s.o. Samuel Clark and Sarah Holmes (or Janet Barnett), married Betsey Boyd Patterson, 5 Mar 1799 New Boston. Betsey was d.o. Robert Patterson and Betsey Furgason, of New Boston. I don't have birth dates for either, but Daniel was probably born in Londonderry. His uncles Ninian and William Clark were early settlers of New Boston. Daniel and Betsey's children were William, Bradford, Robert, David, Sarah, Jane, Betsey, and Nancy. The family was in New Boston until 1815, when they may have gone to Claremont. I believe that the family went to Welland Co., Ontario, Canada some time later, since three of the children were married there between 1829 and 1834. Gail
