Re Manchester NH, ask someone to look at the Manchester directories...lot of good info, and if they were at all involved with the Amoskeag mills, the mills kept good personal records, including job evaluations etc. These directories and mill info are in the Manchester Historical Society on Amherst St., just around th corner fom the library which has a really nice NH genealogy section.
