Hi, We're lucky to have found a photo of my wife's grandfather (Omer Valliere) in a military uniform, in theory it should be from around 1910-1914. Can anyone help us identify it? Its at: http://www.tiac.net/users/twortley/ov.jpg The photo was taken in Manchester, but we are confused as to how quickly he could achieve a rank of sergeant, because by the time he married in 1915 in Fitchburg, Mass, he was only 28 and a machinist in the factories there.
