    3. Please someone help or suggest where to go long distance for this help. I e-mailed someone at the local genealogical society for suggestions but never heard back. I have a direct ancestor, Adam Nichols, born 1754 who is mentioned in Rev. Cochrane's book: History of the Town of Antrim New Hampshire along with his 3 brothers. According to the Abstracts of Rev. War Pension Files, Adam enl. at Cambridge MA with the Cont. Army but then joined the NH line in 1775. Cochrane shows him in the Antrim area around 1774. "...soon after began the McCoy place (next north of John Duncan's). He married _________Atwood, probably of Francestown; moved to New York....." War records show he applied for his pension Nov. 1819 from Ontario Co. NY. I desperately need help finding which Atwood he married. DAR records show that he married as his first wife a Ruth Atwood but I haven't been able to follow up on it. Another source shows a Mary "Polly" Atwood. There were several families of Atwoods and a couple of Ruth Atwoods in the area during the time frame he might have married. His son and my ancestor Daniel was born 1790 and I Cochrane lists a son, Samuel as being born before Daniel but gives no date. The other children all born in the Antrim area were James, Thomas, David, Dolly (married Jesse Atwood) and Mary (married a Vanpelt.) Does anyone have an idea of how I can find out which Atwood Adam married? Thank you. Gwen Brooks Atlanta, GA
