    3. Does anyone know anything about the Rev. Jonathan Barnes & what church he was affiliated with? I have ancestors, Adam Nichols & Ruth Atwood, who were married in Hillsborough by Rev. Barnes in 1786. I wanted to find out more information. I did find the following on a web site which lists New Hampshire's Historical Markers: "In 1769, Col. John Hill, a Masonian proprietor, "granted forever" a tract of land in and around this triangle plot to the first settled minister, Rev. Jonathan Barnes, providing locations for the church, meetinghouse, minister's homestead, school, pound, training field, and burying ground. Worthy of note is that descendants of the original grantee still occupy many of these 18th and early 19th century homes. Located in Hillsborough Center, about 3.3 miles north of the intersection of NH 9 and NH 149. " I am trying to figure out who are the parents of Ruth Atwood. I believe she is the daughter of Jonathan & Dorothy (Dolly) Atwood but I need proof. I do know that Jonathan & Dolly lived in Weare area. I also know that Adam Nichols lived in Antrim. Ruth & Adam were married in Hillsborough. I don't know where I'm going with this but the only other clue I have about Ruth is the minister who married them. Thanks for the help.
